Our group is made up of mostly college students ranging from 18-25. Most of us in the group work as EMT's at Putnam County Operation Life when we are not doing school work. We are interested in Paranormal research because we want to give people a better understanding of what it is, or what it is not.

Hoosier State Paranormal is comprised of skeptics and non-skeptics as well as religious and non-religous. Most people fear what they do not know; our mission for this group is to take the unknown and make it known. You can read about everyone in the group here. Get to know us. If you have any questions or wish to have us come investigate your home or business please do not hessitate to contact us.

chris

Christopher Lien [Founder/Lead Investigator]

I am a graphic design student in Bloomington, Indiana who devotes my time to school,my work as an EMT, my girlfriend, my golf game and (of course) HSP. About a year ago, I approached my sister, brother, and some of our closest friends about starting a group that turned in to HSP. Fortunately, everyone was genuinely interested, supportive, and motivated and our group was born. I am the main contact for HSP and my job is to oversee all of the investigations and operations of the group. Not only do I have the opportunity to participate and lead all of the investigations, I also do all of the graphic and web design for HSP.

John EL Tenney [Investigator/Mentor]

Since 1990, I’ve been actively involved in the field of paranormal-conspiratorial-phantological research. Over that time, I’ve investigated approximately 500 cases of hauntings, UFO encounters, cryptid sightings, and related psychical-heterodoxical events. I’ve authored dozens of articles for magazines and newspapers worldwide, and I’ve lectured extensively to public and private schools, universities, clubs, and organizations. I’m an alumni of Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and I currently work in the field of advertising design, specializing in the use of graphic arts, communication modalities, and semiotics

Megan Soultz [Case Manager]

I am a Biology student in Greencastle, Indiana. As an All-American collegiate softball athlete, I feel like working in a team is a strong suit of mine. My ability to work well with the other members of HSP coupled with my strong science background allows me to find and analyze important evidence during each case. As the case manager for HSP, I work closely with Chris to make sure that each investigation runs smoothly.

savahanna

Savahanna Wise [Research]

I am a graduate student in Biology with undergraduate degrees in both Philosophy and History. I was excited when Chris approached me about the idea of starting HSP because I felt like this was a fantastic opportunity to utilize my love of history and historical research. I tie my (seemingly unrelated degrees) together in HSP by doing the historical research for each case, using my philosophy background to question what we find, and using my science background to demand evidence before forming any conclusions. My primary duty in the group is to do preliminary research about the reported haunting, the property, and a general history of investigation site. I accompany Chris to the initial meetings with the clients to explain the research I’ve done and to help layout the general plan for the investigation.

nate

Nate Lien [Tech Specialist]

I am an EMT and a nursing student in Greencastle, Indiana. I joined HSP with an interest in helping people in our community. Having been in a band that recorded and produced a lot of our own music, I felt like my technology skills would be the most effective way for me to contribute to the needs of HSP. My primary duty is to set up all of the sound and recording equipment and make certain that we are gathering as much evidence as possible using the technology that is available to us. After the investigations, I work with other members of the team to analyze the audio or video evidence that may have been discovered during the investigations.

Daniel Hendry [Computer IT/Video Tech Manager]

My name is Daniel Hendry, and I have degree in Computer Science with Web Management Specialty. I own a computer company based out of Indianapolis, as well as a PT FF/EMT. I was approached by Chris Lien to participate in HSP to utilize my background in Computer Science and Technology Degree to do the video recordings of our investigations, as well as the web management to assist with the web site. I also have years of background in lighting / audio, which allows to assist with Nate in the audio recording. Nate and I work side by side through most investigations, and put our results together to assist with the group to formulate reasons and explanations of our findings.

Tyler Binion [Investigator]:

I am a paramedic in Greencastle, In. and have been in the EMS field for ten years. I am originally from Hanover, In. and came to Greencastle by way of Terre Haute where I attended Indiana State University. I have been married for just over a year, and have two boys with my wife Cooper that is a year and eight months old and Kaiden that will be here sometime in Nov. When Chris approached me with the idea of HSP I was very excited due to my interest in the paranormal world. I have had a few experiences, but that only helped to raise my interest level and bring on more questions. My primary duty with HSP is investigating the cases as well helping with post investigation analysis.

Justin Woodall [Investigator]:

I am currenty a Paramedic student in Terre Haute, IN. and will be moving on to the RN program shortly. I work as an EMT at PCOL and love it. I became interested in paranormal investigation recently by watching different series and witnessing their evidence, always wondering if it was real. During investigations, I always try to keep an open mind and keep from getting tunnel vision. Evidence we collect fascinates me, and I always look for every way to prove or disprove the specimen. Each investigation brings a new challenge, and I am looking forward to learning more about the paranormal world.

Stephen Wise [Investigator]

I am Pre-Medical student in Indianapolis, Indiana. I also work as a full time paramedic and love my job. Stemming from my love of medicine, I love to work with a team in order to put together clues and come up with conclusions; this is exactly what I get to do in HSP. As a "paranormal-skeptic," I love looking for evidence to try and prove and explain the paranormal activity that our clients claim. My job as an investigator for HSP allows me to work with all of the team members in order to physically conduct the investigations.

cameron

Cameron Leek [Investigator in Training]

My name is Cameron Leek and I am currently working towards being a Medic. I have a wife named Kara and a daughter named Ava Saleen (after my favorite mustang). Some of my favorite things to do are to work on Mustang's with Daniel, or to do still photography with my Olympus Digital SLR. The reason I have such a strong interest in the paranormal is because I want to prove that it does exist, I also want to try and prove something wrong as well. Hopefully making those who dont believe....believe!

Capri

Capri Copp [Investigator in Training]

I am an undergraduate student in my third year as a Communication Studies Major with pre-requisites for medical school. I have always been interested in historical research, and even just research in general. I am the student producer of IUPUI's news station, Jagtv, and I do loads of research to find stories and get to the bottom of things. This inspired me to apply to be a member of this team. I want to put my research skills to the test in a way that is interesting and fun. I have had one or two spooky paranormal encounters, but overall I am certainly a skeptic. There must be evidence and proof before I can be sure of anything, and that is why I am here; to use all of my previous experiences and skills and find something fun to do with them, and perhaps prove or disprove something. I hope to offer much to the team, as well as gain some insight about paranormal investigating and everything that goes into it.
